Simon Fischer
Simon Fischer holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from Ulm University, Germany, and joined Boehringer Ingelheim in 2015 as a Post doc. In 2016, he moved on to become a Senior Scientist in the Upstream process development group in Boehringer Ingelheim’s BioXcellence CDMO business unit, responsible for early and late stage biologics development projects of external customers. Simon became the Head of Cell Line Development within the BioXcellence unit in 2017 before switching to the Innovation Unit of the company in 2019 to become the Head of Cell Biology where he is leading the global Center-of-Excellence in Cell Line Development for Boehringer Ingelheim’s internal biologics portfolio. In 2021, he was further promoted to become a Senior Principal Scientist. Apart from his corporate career, Simon holds several roles in various scientific and university committees and industry phora, and is active in the scientific community both as author, reviewer and associate editor for multiple international scientific journals.
